Supporting sales at Sigmacon through flexible finance solutions

Client:

Sigmacon UK

Sector:

Healthcare

SAF has worked with leading distributor of surgical and medical technologies, Sigmacon since 2019 to develop key sales opportunities through flexible finance solutions.

Client Brief:

Sigmacon is a market-leading distributor of innovative laser and surgical technology to the UK’s NHS hospitals and private clinics. Working with a wide range of organisations across the public and private sector, the company provides its market-leading medical and surgical equipment to the NHS and healthcare providers undertaking referral work on behalf of the NHS.

Most recently, Sigmacon has supported mobile surgical company, Mobile Health Systems (MHS), which provides hospitals with the latest technology devices for prostate, stones, and bladder tumour procedures on a hire basis.

Mobile Health Systems supports the NHS by ensuring they have access to the latest technology, so they need to provide flexible procurement options for their end-users. NHS Trusts need the ability to respond to changing demand, and budget restrictions can often be a major obstacle to hospitals gaining access to the devices and technologies they need.

SAF’s role was to structure a funding solution for Mobile Health Systems that ensured that their investment in Sigmacon’s Pulse 100H Laser offered them the best possible cashflow benefit.

SAF’s Solution:

SAF liaised with the MD of Mobile Health Systems to understand their financial drivers, which were fundamentally centred around price and term. In response to the information provided SAF was able to structure a funding solution that would allow Mobile Health Systems to procure equipment quickly and efficiently, with the anticipated income generated by the  asset exceeding the repayment requirements for the equipment.

The positive cash flow and return on investment is an attractive added benefit for customers seeking to invest via a lease agreements.

Outcome:

Sigmacon had a long standing relationship with Mobile Health Systems, who already had a primary finance provider. Sigmacon were keen to introduce SAF to their customer as we were able to provide a better value solution, ensuring the order was placed. This was central to enhancing and and further strengthening Sigmacon’s working relationship with Mobile Health Systems.

With increasing public and private sector collaboration in response to rising surgical backlogs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been immense pressure on the healthcare sector. This is why suppliers such as Sigmacon and Mobile Health Systems need to be agile to changing demand and be ready to support the healthcare system with accessible options for procuring much-needed equipment and technology.

Through SAF’s branded flexible finance solution, Sigmacon secured orders in excess of £150,000 via Mobile Health Systems over the past few years.

Steve Lynn, National Sales Manager at Sigmacon, said:

“Sigmacon has had a close working relationship with SAF for several years.

“We have worked together to provide competitive finance quotes for a large number of Trusts and private healthcare providers, finding Claire and Phil to be responsive to our needs, advising where needed on more complicated quotes and always in quick time.

“It is a pleasure to work with such a professional organisation and we look forward to building our partnership in the future.”
